The Rolex Kermit at a glance

The Rolex Kermit is the Submariner Date reference 16610LV. Rolex launched it in 2003, and Wikipedia lists it as a 50th-anniversary Submariner. It has a 40 mm case in 904L stainless steel, a black Maxi dial with larger luminous markers, a green anodized aluminium bezel insert and the automatic calibre 3135. It was discontinued in 2010.

The nickname comes from the green bezel, which collectors compared with the frog from the Muppet Show. Kermit is the original green Submariner. The 2020 Starbucks 126610LV brought back the green-bezel and black-dial look, but with a ceramic insert, so it is priced separately.

Bezel variation. The 16610LV had several insert variations. The first production, from 2003 to 2004, had the "Flat 4" (or "Fat Four") insert, where the 4 at the 40-minute mark has a flattened shape.
