About WristPrices

WristPrices is an independent price guide for pre-owned luxury watches. We start with Rolex: one page per reference, with the range that recorded sold results support, and an honest "not enough data" where they do not.

Who we are

WristPrices is run independently. It is not owned by a watch brand, a dealer or a marketplace, and nobody can pay to change a published price. Pages are written and checked by WristPrices; we do not use invented experts or reviews.

What we do

  • Track 793 Rolex references, each with its own page: specs, nicknames, production years and what moves the price.
  • Publish a pre-owned price range where enough recent sold results exist (460 references today), with how many sales back it and how confident we are.
  • List the individual sold results behind each reference, with date, condition, box and papers and source.
  • Let sellers request offers for free. A person reviews every request, and details go to a dealer only if the seller agrees.

What we do not do

  • We do not buy or sell watches, and we are not a dealer.
  • We do not authenticate watches or appraise them for insurance. A range on this site is an estimate from market data, not an appraisal.
  • We do not use asking prices to set a range, and we do not copy other sites' computed estimates.
  • We do not guess. Below the minimum number of sales we publish at, a page shows the sales we have and no number.

Where the data comes from

Ranges come from sold results only: eBay sold listings and auction results from 18 vetted sources. Our archive holds 108,034 sold results so far (87,061 eBay sold listings and 20,973 auction results); forum posts marked sold are kept apart and never treated as sales. Each sale is adjusted to a worn watch with box and papers using gaps we measure in our own sales, recent sales count more, and a confidence level says how often past ranges held. The full method, with every figure, is on how we calculate Rolex prices.

Editorial and correction policy

  • Facts about a reference (years, size, materials, nicknames) come from cited sources. A nickname is stated as fact only when two independent sources agree.
  • Every price on a page comes from the current data run, never typed by hand.
  • When we find an error in a sale record or a fact, we correct the record and rebuild every page that used it. When the method changes, its version number changes (now fv-2.0) and the method page is updated.
  • To report an error, email hello@wristprices.com with the page address and what looks wrong. We check the source, correct the record if it is wrong, and rebuild the pages that use it.

Independence from Rolex and dealers

WristPrices is independent of Rolex and of every other watch brand: no brand sponsors this site or reviews what we publish. Brand and model names and reference numbers are used only to identify watches. We plan to charge dealers for introductions to sellers who ask for offers; sellers never pay, and no dealer can pay to change a published price. Where a page shows sponsored links, they are labelled, and they never change our price estimates.
